Illusion Branders makes a come back

After a 3 year hiatus, Illusion Branders makes it's return to the web. "The decision was the result in my continuing interest in web, motion, and print design" says company president David Perry.  "My several year bout with another business interest has kept me pretty occupied and unable to commit to my web design firm... which forced me to close shop."

That other business interest, Atomic Detailing, is an automotive detailing and reconditioning shop on wheels founded and owned by Perry. Started in March 2004, the business became very busy, says Perry.

"By the end of 2004, I was not getting a lot of web design contracts and what contracts I did have, were not enough to justify operation. I had to shut down. I still kept my clients updated and hosted even until this day and they are still very loyal to the brand."

But now the economy is making it's impact and Perry is feeling the pressure. "As of late, the detailing business has been pretty slow... detailing is a luxury, and in an unstable economy, many people are cutting costs where ever they can. Detailing is one of those cuts."

After analyzing financial reports, Perry says he has seen a near 50% drop in detailing prospects over the last 6 months. "Detailing is a very profitable business, however, we have hit a slump. Although I feel this is a temporary trend, I still have to supplement my income."

"The next step was to do something I've always had an interest in doing. You can see my experience in Atomic Detailing's website (www.atomicdetailing.com). My continued tinkering and revisions has allowed me to design a very graphic intense and interactive site. My customers compliment me on the site all the time.. in most cases, they say that it was one of the main reasons they called me to come and work on their car. It is very humbling."

Perry says that the Atomic website along with several other client sites has kept him up to date in the ever changing world of web design. "I haven't lost my touch or gotten rusty. I've gotten better... a lot better!"

"My biggest enemy is my portfolio... it's small. As a small business owner, I have contacted other small business owners to explorer their interest in web design and development. I am really extending myself to these other companies and they are very grateful. It will be tough for a little while, but once I establish a bigger portfolio, I will be better off and cruising once again."

Perry also explained that he is focusing on custom designed solutions at tier-packaged pricing. With custom designed website packages ranging from $299 and up, the company will obtain a bigger and wider variety of clientele. "In addition, we will be offering for the first time, SEO (search engine optimization), custom e-commerce solutions, local business listing services and other self-promoting services that add to the functionality and search-ability of out clients sites... we are branding our clients future."
